There's really nothing more than I'd like to do than to kick back on the couch and spend some time with my small family. Now that i think about it, the desire for early retirement is what keeps me going now. The ability and choice to not have to work and only do so when its needed is certainly appealing to me today.
I want to spend a full day with my wife and daughter without checking email.
I want to drive to the beach, and if we like the place, then decide to extend without having to worry about getting back to the city for work.
I'd like to be able to check in on my Xbox and finish all those games I still have.
I'd love to seriously sit down and work on a few pages of my book at my leisure.
I'd want to buy a frappe or an espresso from my favorite coffee house and take an hour long coffee break instead of the 15 minutes I now usually have.
I'd love to read the novels I have in my Kindle and take the time to contemplate their meanings when I finish.
I'd want to scuba dive every other week, just for the heck of it.
So many things I want to do that I lack the time to do so today. The burning desire to retire early gets stoked to fiery hot when I think about these days of travel and grinding work.
Oh well, off to get my baggage.
How about you, what do you envision your retirement to be like?
